EURO-ASIAN JEWISH CONGRESS

The opening ceremony of the development fund for sociocultural projects

The Blumenkrants team produced a stylish event to mark this significant occasion in the social life of Russia.
The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) is an international non-governmental organization that exists in Israel since 2002 and unites dozens of communities across Eurasia. The objective of the foundation is to support projects of the Jewish community in the domains of culture, education and charity. The head of the EAJC, who is also the main supervisor of all these projects, is the philanthropist and public figure Mikhael Mirilashvili. Recently, the Congress started working in Russia, which represents an important step in promoting the foundation's initiatives in the country.
150 guests, including businessmen, politicians, ambassadors and leaders of religious associations, including the Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar, were invited to the opening ceremony. The event was intended to mark the importance of the occasion and was fully compliant with the laws of kashrut — specific dietary requirements.

The AVIV kosher restaurant was chosen as the main catering partner, and Orion Hall became a suitable venue to host the Congress. Guests were welcomed in a dedicated interactive area that also served for the gala dinner and entertainment. An openwork forged gate was installed at the entrance as a metaphor for the Congress opening its doors in Russia. The event was accompanied by the music of ArfaSound band. A mirror-like tree with the engravings of all areas of work of the foundation became the symbol of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.

We designed and created an installation in the form of an electronic Western Wall — an interactive copy of the prominent holy site. According to our idea, guests could leave online notes that would be sent to Jerusalem after the event. To do so, guests had to enter their data on a tablet installed nearby and received a card with their note recorded on it, which could be placed in the Wall.

Maxim Orlov, the official voice of FC Spartak and presenter of Russian Radio [Russkoye Radio] was invited as the host of the event. A real professional, he supported the CEO of the Congress Bella Waldberg during the presentation of the congress and its initiatives. Maximilian Khikhinashvili and the Bril Brothers jazz band, as well the famous artist Maxim Leonidov and the trumpeter Vadim Eilenkrieg, performed on stage. The actor Veniamin Smekhov recited the poems of Osip Mandelstam, Joseph Brodsky and Sasha Chorny to the accompaniment of the talented pianist Basinia Shulman.

The audience was greeted by Robert Singer, the Executive Vice-President of the World Jewish Congress (WJC); Harry Koren, the Ambassador of Israel to the Russian Federation; Aaron Frenkel, the Chairman of the EAJC, the Vice-President of the WJC, entrepreneur and investor. He emphasized that the Blumenkrants team produced "a stylish and flawless event that showed respect for traditions".
Over the five years of cooperation with the Jewish community, we have gained experience in holding kosher events, that's why we are entrusted to produce such events as the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. The only challenge was to organize everything in two weeks. If had we let down people in high positions in diplomacy and business, we would have had our reputation at risk. Eventually we coped with all the tasks and created a serious and elegant event that even had an emotional moment: the musicians and entertainers received an ovation, which rarely happens at events of this kind.
